Okay, you know the drill by now: take your current read and open it at random. Select 2 teaser sentences to share - but no spoilers, please!
This week, I'm reading The Obama Revolution by Alan Kennedy-Shafer. Not much chance for a teaser there - we know how this story ends! So instead, I picked a few sentences that I found extremely moving, quoted from a speech Barack Obama gave in Philadelphia on March 18, 2008. In this passage, he is talking about his roots and his family:
"I am married to a black American who carries within her the blood of slaves and slaveowners - an inheritance we pass on to our two precious daughters. I have brothers, sisters, neices, nephews, uncles and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible."
Now, for those of you who were intrigued by my teaser last week (Nick and his prison sentence), look for my review of An Offer You Can't Refuse on Thursday. What are you reading this week?
