Tuesday Thingers

Wow, it's been a while since I've done one of these, but I am really excited about today's topic! This is something I've been meaning to do since I saw the Library Thing Blog post...

Questions: Do you have a LT widget on your blog? If so, what is your favorite thing about it? Have you had a chance to go see the all new widget building page, and if so, have you built a new widget? If so, what do you like about it?

I do currently have one of the older widgets, but I love the new one! By the time you read this post, it will probably have changed. I love the changing books! Really great stuff.

One thing I'd like to see change, and I will probably post this over at LT this morning - they give you an option to filter on certain tags, but it would be more convenient to filter out certain tags. For example, I have a number of books tagged "erotica", that I would probably prefer not to see in my sidebar! (Well, I don't really care, but I would hate to offend anyone's delicate sensibilities.) Other than that, I think they're fabulous!

That's a great suggestion, actually. I don't know if I have any tags that I'd want filtered out just now but it makes sense to be able to do that.

That is a great suggestion and very useful. There are a few tags that I would choose to cull just because they might not be of interest to people stopping by the blog.

yes, the tag filter point is valid. there is another way to do, but granted it is a lot of work. any book I want to show up, I tagged with a random word..in fact the word random. No random tag, it does not show. now since I had more than 1000+ books listed when I thought of it, it took a little effort.

Wow, Caite! I think I'll just propose it to LT first, see if they can give me an easier workaround.

Your new widget looks good. I haven't even seen the new widget building thingy. I'll have to check it out.

I like your new widget. I was staring at it and saw a book we have in common: Kitchen Confidential. I just finished reading that and will post my review next week. So there is another good reason to use the widget - see what books we have in common.

Nice widget! Good point abot tags. Can you filter on ratings I wonder - it bugs me that you can't seem to do that in your library.

I have one of the older LT widgets too. I need to check out the new ones--see what I'm missing. :-)

I was so glad you told me about the new widgets, since I hadn't been over to LT for a bit. It was perfect timing for sticking a new version on my new blog. I may still switch to just the book covers, like you've got, but I'm going to see how this one looks for a while first.

I love your new widget!! I just love seeing the books change. I also love your idea of being able to exclude some titles.

Thanks for stopping by and participating in Thingers last week! I've got the post up for this week, have you re-styled Your Library lately? ~ Wendi
